The Economic Development Strategic Plan

The Economic Development Division of the Community Development Department is updating its Five-Year Strategic Plan. Over the coming months, we will share a wide range of information collected for this update. We want to have an open dialogue about our findings and encourage you to comment on our direction and ask questions.   

What is the Purpose of the Strategic Plan?

The Strategic Plan is intended to help the city use its economic development resources in a way that reflects community values and encourages economic prosperity for all. The plan will help reflect those values and Council priorities by:  

1. Presenting a baseline evaluation of the city's current economy and business climate. 

2. Convening stakeholders to identify opportunities and foster collaboration.
3. Establishing an agreed upon economic vision for the community. 
4. Signaling the City’s commitment to businesses, partners, investors, and developers. 
5. Identifying key actions to create momentum for short- and long-term success.
